Want to watch animated videos and solve interactive exercises about cylinder?
If you take a piece of paper and roll it up, you will get a figure like the one below. This figure is called a cylinder, and it is two circles connected together by a wall.
The two bases of a cylinder are always circles or ellipses. The bases also have to be of the same size. You will mostly see cylinders with bases shaped like circles.
Think About This
Take a look around at home. Can you find any objects that are cylinder shaped?
The objects may either have a circular or an elliptical base and top.
Some examples of cylinders: Soda can, water bottle, honey jar, paint bucket, toilet paper roll, and “Pringles” can.
